Pre-Contest Diet Recipes

  • Oatmeal pancakes:  Mix 1 cup Quick Oats (Blue can), 4 egg whites, ½ scoop Natures Best – Isopure whey protein, 1 pack Splenda.  Whip into pancake –like batter (add water if needed), and cook in nonstick skillet over medium heat (like pancakes).  Too high of heat, or too much whey protein may cause them to burn, so check carefully until you get the hang of it.   Also, try adding some cinnamon, more Splenda, powdered Crystal Light drink mix, or different flavors of protein to get the taste/sweetness you like.  You can also add some pancake mix or oat flour to make them fluffier, or actual meal replacement powders (Isopure Ultra).

  • Salad Dressing:  Mix red wine vinegar, lemon juice, mustards (stone ground, Dijon , and other flavors which don’t include a lot of sugar), spices such as Dill, dried tomato flakes, Italian spices, Splenda, and water.  Mix the whole thing up, and pour into a plastic water bottle to keep as your salad dressing.  The whole thing is really just a few carbs and some sodium.

For salads we also add soy nuts, a few flavored bacon bits, and even a few raisins.

  • Shrimp Salad:  Mix 2 cups small shrimp with 3 peeled & sliced cucumbers.  Add 1 cup lemon juice, 6 packs of Splenda, and 1/1 tablespoon of Dill.  Chill for about 2 hours.

  • Potato Fries:  Dice potatoes, or cut into fries and place on a cookie sheet.  Mix 1 egg white with water and then add Lipton’s instant onion soup mix.  Pour this over the fries and bake in the oven at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes.  You can simply sprinkle any flavor soup mix, and/or other spices over the potatoes without the egg whites as well.

  • Protein mousse:  Mix ½ scoop Isopure chocolate whey protein, ½ scoop soy protein, and ¼ packet of Isopure Ultra meal replacement.   Add only enough water to make into a thick mixture (like pudding).  Let chill in the freezer for 15 minutes.  You can also add Splenda or various flavors of Crystal Light powdered drink mix to get an even sweeter taste.

This is great at night for a dessert, and mainly

  • Oatmeal Delight:  Use regular oats (red can), determine how many carbs you’d like, add enough water to drown the oats.  Microwave for 1-2 minutes.  Mix in a scoop of Isopure whey protein, and 1 pack Splenda.

  • Sloppy Joes Turkey :  Use ground turkey (or have the butcher grind up the London broil or other steaks you buy).  When cooking in a skillet, add salsa, chopped onions, peppers, zucchini, brussel sprouts or other veggies.  Add taco seasoning with a little water to make it as saucy as you want.

  • Meat marinade:  Mix soy sauce with lemon juice and Splenda = Teriyaki.

  • Tuna Salad:   Mix salsa and mustards into tuna, and have over a salad.

  • Yams/Sweet potatoes:  Mash the yams, and sprinkle Splenda, Cinnamon, and/or a little Isopure powder over them for sweeter flavors.

*  Consider substituting Sucralose (Splenda) for other artificial sweeteners like Saccharine, Aspartame, Phenylalanine, Stevia, etc.
