2010 California Natural Muscle Mayhem
Women's Overall Figure Champion & IFPA Pro

What got you started in
bodybuilding?
In my thirties, and after years of
gymnastics I was ready for a "new goal". I was very "green"
in the gym with regards to training and dieting for
bodybuilding when I first competed in the ANBC (showing my
age, here). Stasi Longo, Pro-Natural bodybuilder and
nutrition expert designed my workouts, and tweaked my diet.
I give her all the credit as she helped achieve personal
victories I could not have accomplished on my own. I'm still
following her Periodization Program and diet in the "off
season" which I love!
What are your bodybuilding
contest highlights (titles/experiences)?

What is the most important
thing you’ve learned/gained through bodybuilding?
I consistently trained over
the years and knew I would compete again, eventually. In my
40's, a few injuries, and surgeries slowed me down, but I
was focused on "what I could still do" versus what many
doctors told me I "couldn't" do. I then became hyper-focused
on my training and was forced to get a little "creative"
with my workouts. I concentrated more on precision and
accuracy with specific exercises and engaged in "total body
workouts" versus "one part a day". I NEVER get bored! I'm
so grateful and humbled to have the opportunity to compete
again on stage with some truly amazing, natural, female
athletes; both Figure and Bodybuilding.
My faith and my family are always my inspiration. Witnessing
my dad survive and "thrive" after cancer has (and will
always be) my utmost motivation to make every workout count,
keeping in mind that "When people say 'no', faith and God
say 'yes'".
